McGuire Gets What He Deserves!!
1) We here at FAUXRUMORS were very happy to hear that former all star first basemen and steroid user(cheater) Mark McGuire was denied a spot in the baseball Hall of fame yesterday. Deserving honorees, Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripkin jr. were admitted on their first year of eligibility, while the former home run king was passed over by the voters
2) There is little doubt that McGuire's dubious denials of steroid usage weren't believed by the baseball writers, who certainly would have included the former A's and cardinal's first basemen in this year's class.
3) We hope this is a trend. When others like Rafael Palmiero, Barry Bonds, etc. are up for a vote, the writers show as much disdain for those apparent cheaters and fail to elect them as well.

Let me firstly say that I used to be a fan of Mark McGwire... But, what bothers me most about him, as it turned out, is that he promoted himself as a role model for kids - at the same time, he was injecting drugs into his body... Hypocrisy exemplified... Mark cheated, and we KNOW that he cheated, so he shouldn't be in the Hall... However, as Faux has noted, the sportswriters had BETTER be consistent and deny the list of the other KNOWN rule breakers... If Barry Bonds, for instance, gets in, then Mark's eligibility must be re-examined... Same for Palmeiro, whose numbers are phenomenal...
On a seperate note, it continues to be a shame that Goose Gossage can't get the 75%... He was as dominating as any pitcher could be during his tenure with the Yankees... Maybe Rich gets in next year, as there are few "shoo-in" players eligible...
